"THE WEDDING 2005 ADVENTURE"

USUAL SUSPECTS INVOLVED :     Soperman & Crystalheart, Rik, Duracell & Andrei

LOCATION :      Bucharest

WRITERS:          Soperman, Rik & Duracell

Soperman - I got married twice to Cristina (That's how much I love her!!!!), the first time was a civil ceremony in Pitesti (Cristina's home town, where everything was conducted in Romanian!) and the one that is detailed here in Bucharest with all our family and friends. I suppose I had to get married twice because I proposed twice! (She didn't say no the first time, but we were interrupted! - Yes Duracell, you know who by!) The week before, the wedding started with Rik somehow driving through some kind of temporal displacement region, causing him to miss our arranged meeting point (On the outskirts of Bucharest). He ended up in the city centre at Gara de Nord. (Which Cristina still maintains is impossible and he couldn't have done!)

At Bucharest Gara de Nord  Emi tries to work out where we should have gone .

Rik - It wasn't my fault. Somebody moved it! Andrei, Emi (Our faithful translator), our friend Campbell and I drove down from Uricani (7 hours of Romanian mountain roads!). It was absolutely beautiful but very tiring, I want to be like Andrei and be able to sleep any where!

Emi & Andrei journey through the mountains - Uricani to Bucharest in 7 hrs.

Soperman - So we found them their living quarters (Many thanks to Dumi who was fool enough to lend them her flat.), Campbell decided he didn't like lifts and ran up six flights of stairs every time. Rik defended the lift's reputation loudly to all and sundry, and then promptly got stuck inside it. (He he he!!!) Over the next few days, Gav (Or maybe it was Rezmi the black van) developed an instinctive knowledge of the route to Bucharest airport, ferrying members of my family- and their luggage. He even managed to greet my brother with a pack of John Smiths Bitter!

Rik - Andrei (Never one to let a chance to use his "I'm sweet" act go to waste) decided he was going to keep Soperman's wonderful Nan. She didn't seem to mind.

Duracell - Meanwhile in England I was having to get up at 6am to get to the airport (doh!). When I got there I checked in my E - ticket and went to find one of Soperman's friends called Chris. He'd said we should meet in the bar. There are lots of bars in Heathrow as I found out. Eventually I found him just as our flight was called. Once on the plane my seat was between a scary Romanian camel (spitting lady) who turned out to be quite nice when I found my Romanian and a fat businessman (just a fat businessman). The flight was nothing special and soon we arrived in Bucharest where Rik was there to meet us.

Soperman - When my friends from Poole (Including Duracell - Everybody hide!) arrived in Bucharest, I found the aforementioned temporal displacement region whilst actually looking for a hotel. It only took almost 3 hours, but I got there (And back!) in the end! From then, whenever I went around Bucharest on my own, no matter where I was trying to get to, I ended up being at the People's Palace, for some bizarre reason (Maybe coz it's the second largest building in the world!

Duracell - On the morning of Ian's wedding I was holding Andrei upside down because he was being loud and annoying me while I was still asleep. Campbell and Emi came to help me and some how it all turned into a water fight in the flat. (Ooops - It wasn't me!")

Soperman - Suddenly, it was the day of my wedding, and then it was the hour before the ceremony, and most of the gang in the flat were watching Star Wars Episode 3 on my dad's laptop, whilst I was getting dressed and trying to put on a cravat (It went through multiple iterations, but never really looked like it should!)

Duracell - After this we went to the wedding. The pastor was comic. I enjoyed the ceremony and the meal after, that went on for hours. I helped Soperman's dad being a photographer and took loadsa kool wedding pics. Some of them are below.

Ace photographer Duracell - note the tie. It has minis on!

Soperman - The ceremony was fantastic, I was really nervous at the start and had something in my eyes as Cristina walked down the aisle (Or maybe my eyes watered a little) and I couldn't believe that someone that beautiful wanted to marry me! As the pastor started his lesson, my phone started vibrating, and proceeded to do that every 5 minutes or so, throughout the entire proceedings.
